Academic latinos program

Visiting the Latino Center, participating in workshops, and using campus resources helps students connect with others who are also in the program. Within the counseling experience, Latino Center counselors intentionally use their relevant cultural knowledge and experience to address student needs, thereby helping to support an inclusive learning environment that promotes student equity.

Courses are taught by faculty who are interested in working with our historically underrepresented students and who understand the importance of an inclusive and equity-oriented course environment. Latino population. A senior thesis in Latino Studies is encouraged, but not required, for students enrolled in the supplementary major.

In addition, Glynn Honors Program students enrolled in the Latino Studies program as minors or supplemental majors may also write a senior thesis in Latino Studies. Thesis students take the thesis-writing course in Latino Studies ILS under the direction of their thesis faculty supervisor. A minimum grade point average and faculty recommendation are required for acceptance. Students interested in writing a senior thesis should apply to the ILS Director of Undergraduate Studies by the spring of their junior year.
